About Us

When design and production happen under one roof, process is performance. Through the long hours spent with both pen and machine, we have learned that the design and build process is recursive, each craft only as great as the input from its counterpart. We started Larrabee Gearworks as a channel for both creativity and learning, a place to express our love of sewing in the form of physical creation, and for the communities surrounding both sewing and sport. For businesses trying to take on the daunting challenge of textile work within the US, the road is necessarily a winding one, and we first began in spring 2024 as a repair shop. Soon we began to take on more custom work, as well as to sew some small runs of products, all the while honing our skills in the world of alpine pack design. In late 2025 we began the parawing stash belt project, which has become an increasingly important part of our business. We are proud to be manufacturing in house in Bellingham Washington.

We grew up as neighbors, and became friends in elementary school, bonding over our shared love of throwing pinecones and digging holes. When Jesse received a sewing machine from his grandma towards the end of highschool, we were just becoming interested in bikepacking, and the idea that one could make their own bike bags (and maybe save money) became apparent. Around 8 years later we found ourselves living in the same place for the first time in years and decided to pursue textile design and manufacture in a more official capacity, and Larrabee Gearworks was born.
